Biography

Gabriel Garnier (He/Him) is an undergraduate saxophonist at the University of Arkansas. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Gabriel studied saxophone with Dr. Andrew Schoen of the prize winning Aruna Quartet. As a soloist and chamber musician, Gabriel’s achievements have led him to performances across the United States at the University of Texas at Austin, George Mason University, Ohio State University, University of Oklahoma, and the University of Notre Dame, as well as performances in the United Kingdom, Mainland China, and Hong Kong. 

 

Gabriel is an avid researcher, serving as the Vice President for the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Arkansas Collegiate Chapter and a student of Dr. Nophachai Cholthitchanta’s reed-making studio. Gabriel’s passion for learning has also brought him to participate in masterclasses and lessons with widely renowned saxophonists such as

Dr. Geoff Deibel, Dr. Jan-Berry Baker, Dr. Myles Boothroyd,

and Dr. Wisuwat Prukasavanich.

Gabriel performs on Yamaha saxophones with Selmer Paris mouthpieces and Ishimori-Woodstone ligatures across all four horns, utilizing both Vandoren and Légère reeds.
